These gnomes are made from socks and are stuffed with rice. There is very little sewing to be done and they work up quite quickly! They are made from women's crew socks (size 9-11).
I like to make the gnome body from a patterned crew sock and the hat from a fuzzy crew sock but many sock combinations are possible. You can actually get 2 hats from one fuzzy sock, so really you only need 1-1/2 crew socks to make a gnome.
