I am at least a 4th generation crocheter; my grandma taught me my first crochet stitch when I was 6. I picked it up seriously as a teen and became a freelance crochet designer when I was 19, publishing my own patterns and also contributing to many yarn companies and crochet magazines over the years. I still get a little thrill out of seeing my name on a magazine page, or picking up a ball of yarn and finding one of my designs on the label.

I used to hate sewing (and shuddered at the mere thought of quilting!) but eventually succumbed to the lure of pretty fabric when I discovered vintage sewing patterns with their beautiful details and fit, becoming an avid seamstress. Some years later I picked up quilting, and now have more recently published counted cross stitch and quilt designs as well. I love feminine, retro fashion to wear or for the home, and have a constant, shifting pile of various projects; my to-stitch list is always much longer than time allows!
