The regal cardinal has a sprig of holly in his beak. The holly berries are 3 teensy cardinal red buttons, which are available with the pattern. Holly leaves and cardinal beak are tiny but super easy with the help of Heat n Bond Ultra, a fusible web that does not require stitching for a permanent hold. I chose to use a few Christmas fabrics with a gold sparkle in them, however choose non holiday prints for an everyday look.
A perfect machine applique project that is truly beginner friendly, so anyone can create fantastic home decor with this quilt pattern.
