Fabric Confetti Quilt Patterns

Vanessa has had a love for drawing and sewing, fabrics and color since she was a child. After graduating from RIT with a BFA in Medical Illustration, she worked as a graphic designer for Bell Laboratories in Holmdel, New Jersey and then for American Express in New York City. It was during this period that she took an Eleanor Burns’ Quilt-in-a-Day class and became hooked on quilting.

In 2000, her family moved back to the USA, more specifically, to Arizona, after living in London for 13 years. It was at this time that she discovered digitizing and a new outlet for her old illustration skills.

She decided to start Fabric Confetti in 2012. She combined her illustration skills with her digitizing skills and developed her own avenue of machine embroidery appliqué. As per the name, many of her first patterns utilized "fabric confetti" to embellish and give a layered effect to the designs. Over time, however, the line has evolved and "fabric confetti" is no longer used in her designs.

Vanessa digitizes for Judy Niemeyer’s Quiltworx and together they have released several machine embroidery applique patterns that are companion patterns for many of the Judy Niemeyer quilt designs.

Vanessa has also partnered with Bruce Swinton of Bruce Allen Designs and together they have released several of Bruce’s machine embroidery patterns – the Ugly Christmas Sweaters Series and the Wonky Houses Series being the most popular.

Vanessa is a Baby Lock Partner and loves teaching machine embroidery both in person and online.
