Laurie B’s Quilting and Sewing
(9 products)
Katie Brobst is a quilter, designer, and educator living in the scenic city of Chattanooga, TN. Much of her inspiration for her quilt patterns stems from her mom who taught her how to quilt and sew at a young age. Growing up, Katie's mom owned a craft store in the small town of Farragut, TN. Being just a short walk from school, Katie would spend every afternoon in the shop painting, sewing, stamping - simply being creative. After that shop closed, her mom worked at Joann Fabrics where Katie continued to spend hours taking in all the fabrics and coming up with new projects to work on.
Katie's mom, Laurie Brobst, was a renowned quilter and teacher in East Tennessee always encouraged her to be a go-getter and reach for her goals. Together, the mother-daughter duo decided to create a line of patterns showcasing their love for the art of quilting. Just barely into this adventure, in 2023, Laurie was diagnosed with a Glioblastoma (stage 4 brain cancer). After her passing, Katie decided to take the bull by the horns, as they say, and continue the journey in memory of her sweet mom. You will notice all patterns have a logo with the bee emblem on them to honor "Laurie B."
Throughout her practice, Katie's goal is to bring original and unique designs to people of all ages. Spreading the joy of quilting to all who appreciate the process (and the products).
