Mara Quilt Designs

Marija, the creative force behind Mara Quilt Designs, is a passionate quilter, designer, and teacher. She named her company in honor of her grandmother, "Baba Mara," whose beauty and grace continue to inspire her work.

Originally from former Yugoslavia, Marija immigrated to the U.S. in 1992, where she discovered quilting—a craft that became her creative home and a deep connection to American traditions. By day, she works in cancer research, but quilting is her true passion.

Now based in Buffalo, NY, she shares her love for quilting through her patterns, website, and social media, inspiring others to explore color, design, and creativity. When she’s not quilting, she enjoys time with her family, grandchildren, and pets. She welcomes all quilters to connect, learn, and create together.
