Are you one of those people who loves to piece quilts but think of the borders as a bit of drudgery? Borders are tedious and not a lot of fun, so I decided to do away with them. This faux border quilt has the illusion of borders but is actually just 36 blocks. It is a mixed technique pattern — 20 of the blocks are traditional patchwork piecing and 16 are foundation paper piecing. It does not teach you to paper piece although it gives some basic instructions based on the method I teach in my Patchwork Partner book. Also, it doesn’t teach you how to sew blocks together and assemble your quilt, but it does give you some basic tips on assembling a faux border quilt.
