I had a lot of fun making this pattern. I like the narrow nine patches and I used the left overs for the alternating block. You can buy a small layer cake package to make the baby quilt, or a large layer cake package to make the lap quilt! Fabric selection couldn't be easier.
Finished size for the baby quilt is 43" x 42"
Finished size for the lap quilt is 53" x 67"
Fabric Requirements for baby quilt:
20 Layer Cake Squares OR 12 Fat Quarters
3/4 yard of cream background fabric
2 3/4 yards of fabric for backing
1/2 yard of fabric for binding
Fabric Requirements for Lap Quilt:
40 Layer Cake Squares OR 15 Fat Quarters
1 1/3 yards of fabric for cream background
3 1/2 yards of fabric for backing
2/3 yard of fabric for binding
